Does anybody know when the 2 years starts from before you can apply for citizenship? I have a PR visa but validated it, went back to the UK, and then came back out again permanently.....does the 2 years start from visa validation or the entry date of me actually living here
?

?2 years still applies to some but it depends on when you validated and when you started living in Australia.

I validated in Nov 06 and have lived here since Oct 07, so think I'm lucky enough to fall into the 2 years because of when I validated....... I hope anyway!

I think the cut off point for completing the 2 years is in 2010.
Any time spent in Australia on a PR visa should count towards the 2 years

If people became permanent residents before 1 July 2007 and apply before 30 June 2010, they must have been physically present in Australia as a permanent resident for a total of two years in the five years before applying, including one year in the two years before applying.
