hi all
Hi i am new to this post a friend refer me to this forum
I have a complex question which is not related to Immigration but i am not sure whom to ask about this so i am trying my luck to find the answer.
me my husband and my son got their PR 885 last week
My son is 3 yr old and he goes to child care he was born in Australia.
Me and my husband came to Australia in 2007.
My question is:
-will i get any benefits from the govt.(child care rebate, child care benefit)?
-will he get australian citizenship?
i tried calling them even they are not sure they just said come to our office and they will find it .
could anyone help me in this matter.
thanks

Hi reenabenpatel and welcome to BE,
I've moved your post to this section of the forum, as you are likely to get more answers regarding the childcare benefits. I'm sorry I can't help with that, but someone should be along soon

Re: hi all
Benefits are means tested, but yes you will be entitled on your visa, but if as a family you earn too much no you won't. I think the threshold is about $178k.
Yes he will.

With regard to your child, he would be entitled to citizenship if you were here as a perm resident when he was born
