We also remember buying fleece jumpers and jeans whilst in Brisbane as we were freezing. I suppose this is a bit of a typical woman question but I have been wondering what kind of clothing to bring. Do I really need to bring things like long boots like we where here in the uk. I have to say if I leave them all behind my sister will be delighted. Also things like duvets, we have a 13 tog for winter but is it just going to be stored when we get there. Also another question, we are shipping all our household goods but have been wondering if it is worthwhile shipping our wardrobes as all the shipping agencies say that you have fitted out there. It will be sods law if we don't bring them we will need them, any thoughts.

Looking forward to living in Hervey Bay, hope we won't be disappointed.

We arrive in Brisbane 30th August and Hervey Bay 14th September.

Thanks
Miranda:D

Hi Miranda
It has changed quite alot in the last 5 years, it is much busier.
My advice is bring everything, you can wear boots and coats in the winter and definatley 13 tog duvets, as very few houses have any heating at all, so it is the same temperature in side as out, last week it was 7C! Not all houses have built-ins. Where are you moving from? Kate

Hi
There is loads of building going on here, so I reckon you should be able to get plastering work. Sorry no idea about schools, although obviously there are lots of them!
All the Best Kate

We live at Dundowran Beach and it is lovely. It's very quiet with miles of empty beach. Hervey Bay is about a 7 minute drive away, so not to far. They are building a new supermarket at Eli Waters estate which is on the edge of Hervey bay so from Dundowran you can get your shopping done without having to go right into Hervey Bay. Not sure about football schools. Hope this helps. No, i don't mind all the questions.

Morning.

We have been in the bay nearly 2 months now and are really enjoying it. We have 2 kids who go to Urangan High school and Sandy straights Primary. They seem like good enough schools.... will tell more when parents evening comes along!!!!

We rented in Torquay for a couple of weeks and have now bought a house in Scarness.

Looking forward to exploring every restaurant on the prom!!
