Hi there

We have just booked to go up to Hervey Bay for a few days at the beginning of next month.

We are renting a house where we can take our 3 dogs with us and we have decided to take our boat up there as well.

Can anyone who lives there or has been there give us any info on the place.

Went there last August, its a nice place, quiet and you will notice its mainly for the older generation and families which was fine with us, a week would have been too much, but recommend doing the whale watching and the fraser island trip. We also stopped off at Tin Can Bay and saw the dolphins. Hope you have a great time.

Hi Sharon,
We live an hour and a half up the road in Bundy but often take a drive down. In fact we were there on Saturday, has a very large Bunnings, lol.
In Urangan there is an aquarium where you can swim with sharks (so the ad says) although we haven't been there yet. There is also a very, very long pier, which is a lovely walk.
From the boat harbour you will be able to cross the Great Sandy Straight and pop over to Fraser Island (obviously this depends on how big your boat is).
Just before you get to Hervey Bay there is a go cart track and driving range, if golf is your thing. Whale watching trips start soon too.
It is a very quiet place, but still has a few pubs etc. The Irish Bar on Boat Harbour drive, near the old Harvey Norman is quite nice. I'm sure you will have a great time. Enjoy the break.
