Default Here and There

If someone has a PR can they spend say 4 months in OZ then 4 months in the UK and so on, or would that be breaking the rules.
for instance I buy a house in OZ plot the wife and kids there and I travel back and forth to the UK earning a crust (hehe), Now before I get slaugtered by everyone, the missus has all her family living in Brisbane so it's not as bad as it sounds

You can do whatever you like for the first 5 years. Then your RRV will lapse and unless you have an Aus passport by then or a new valid RRV, you'd lose Aus PR when you next left Aus.

Beware the taxmen. Overseas earning are taxable here, and if you spend more than 90 days in the UK, you're a tax resident there.

And there is a small residency requirement for citizenship or RRVs - someone else can fill in the details....

Not sure about timescale, but my best friend would come home from May till August and work and see family and get her tax done just before she left she usally got a rebate and took her earnings to her accountant in OZ but it didn't make alot of difference even to her husbands who is a qualified upholsterer.

As fancied doing this in summer here in the Uk.

I,m thinking of working winters here in the UK, because of my job earnings go up quite nicely and even taking renting a place in the UK and return flights I,ll be way ahead in earnings.
I pay tax as I earn but I will get an accountant's advice.
TERRYG where are you mate????

lol, just realised the Title is from one of the kids Dr Suess books,
"would you eat them HERE or THERE" just shows how parents take this stuff into their brains without realising, I did the same when I went on a ride in Disneyworld (It's a small world) I was singing that song to myself for days after.
