We got our visa's last june but had to sell the house. Now its under offer and surveyer is out on tuesday. hope to complete at the end of july.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO FIRST ABOUT THE CAT. DO I ASK VET OR HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT SHE NEEDS INJECTION WISE FROM SOME OTHER BODY AND WHO DO YOU LOT RECOMMEND USING TO TRANSPORT HER.

Hi Lovealot,

try looking at the bit about shipping your pets here: http://www.yellabrickroad.com/6togo.html
You will see some advice and links to the relevant sections of the govt websites etc so that you can see exactly what is required.

First get intouch with a shipping firm, they will tell you what you need to do first e.g what blood tests the cat will need. We used Airpets, they are based right next to heathrow airport which makes it easier, they were very good when we shipped our dog over.

Are you arranging shipment yourself or using a shipper.
You have left it rather late havn't you.
We are using a shipper and they arrnge everything except for :

I had to make sure my cat was vaccinated and send them the orginal card
I had to have her microchipped and prvide them with the serial number.
And finally I take her to them on 14th July. So glad someone else is sorting out vets, sky kennel export licences and booking quarantine etc

Good luck

Ali

Golden arrow shippers can't recommend them highly enough. Look them up on this forum for number. They will tell you all that you need to do

Good Luck

Wish my mum had used another company - she went with a company based in Manchester and they are appalling!! Not sure if i can name or shame??

We've been given hardly any information, had to do the research ourselves and they are horrible to speak with! They did book the flight and that's about it really? I've had to ring them 4 times in the last week because Jayde (the doggie) has her blood test on Thurs and i don't know if i need to take any paperwork with me to the vets?? He said he would send a guide of some sort, then a specimen sample of a Defra permit arrived?? (I think this is what is completed by the vet before she takes the flight?) Why do i need this?

It's all driving me crazy!
We would definitely change company, but the flights are booked now and her quarantine is booked accordingly (which WE had to sort out - may i add!!)
Bloody useless... no wonder i turn to wine!!
