We are almost at the stage of selling the house etc. (getting a bit frantic and excited!) and are looking around for freight companies that can be trusted with all our worldly possessions. A friend of mine used anglopacific and airpets a couple of years ago to move to NZ. Can anyone recommend any one else - and who to stay well away from!
Many Thanks.

We have had quotes from Crown, Whites, Britannia and John Mayson. They were all okay but we liked the guy from John Mayson the most and price seems good. It is hard I know, I would just recommend getting a few quotes and seeing who you like the sound of. The sales man can really change your opinion of a company.

Hi
I can recommend Golden Arrow in Shropshire. They don't have a website, but they are brilliant. Friendly, efficient and I have no concerns about entrusting my puppy to them! Also, friend used them to ship her animal family to NZ and she was thrilled with service.
Re the furniture shippers - couldn't comment as we'll sell here and buy new there - worked it out that for us, it would be cheaper.
Good luck!!! We're in the same position and biting fingers to try and calm down. I just want visa to come NOW!!!!

Airpets are awesome. Recommend them completely.
Heaps of threads on removal companies. PSS International we used and they were faultless.

Most people on here would say avoid Anglo P - but the customer services guy from them has been on here trying to sort out disgruntled customers problems
John Mason's are brilliant in my opinion.

We had John Masons come and give us a quote, they were cheaper but found out the insurance they offer is in fact only liability cover. Pickford's actually give you insurance cover. Basically if your possessions are in the lorry and it is hit by another vehicle then with Pickford's you claim off their insurance no quibble. With the other company if you have the same scenario you would have to wait to see who is liable for the damage before being paid out which could take weeks. Also John Masons use another company in Australia, so if anything happens whilst your stuff is in transit, you could find that neither Masons or the company in Australia will want to take responsibility for your stuff and could end up in a court case trying to get compensation, where as Pickford's everything is covered no matter where or when you will paid out straight away.
Everything about moving is so scary, you just hope you are making the right choices in everything you do. So many rip off merchants.

Hi there
We're going with a shared container through Doree Bonner, thanks to recommendations on this site. Main pro's include a nominated 'unpacker' in Brisbane (Grace), plus all-in door-to-door insurance for 2.5% including sets & pairs, mechanical workings, damp and mould etc. Very impressed with them so far! We also got John Mason to quote, but marginally preferred Doree Bonner - costs were very similar.
Good luck!
