Hello Everyone,
I have been enjoying this site for a few months now trying to learn more about life in Australia. I am a Brit by birth but grew up in Canada from 4 yrs old have been back in UK for 6 years and have loved it.
I am married to an Aussie from Perth and I have just got my spousal Visa so next stop is Perth before the end of May. My wife has all her family there and my two young boys ( 3.5 yrs and 1) won't miss a beat so it will be just me trying to get up to speed. Even in my situation where we have family waiting for us, there is still so much to sort out so I really admire most of the people here who have taken such bold steps to follow their dreams.
All the best to everyone !
Tim

I've been there twice before but really as a tourist.

Hi there
We are hoping to move to Perth around June 07. We were there for a holiday earlier this year and liked what we seen. We stayed with husbands cousin in Swan View and it was nice but we're still not sure where we want to settle. Husband is a roofer.
Any ideas re. nice areas (but not too pricey as we're not rich ... lol)

Perth is lovely we've been here 7 months now but not so cheap - to give you a lidea - the average house price for a 4 bed 2 bathroom is now anything from $450,000 more likely $500,000 plus.
The cheaper areas where houses look like you get more for your money need to be researched as there are some rough areas you would not like to live.
However saying that we are in no rush to come home - we are renting at present to see if prices slow down and the lifestyle well UK has nothing on here - you will love it. Great weather, great beaches, parks and just plain old good living.
Good luck with your applications
