Hi Carriannne
We stayed at the goodearth hotel at xmas for a month it is ideal as it is central to everything.
We also favoured the sunshine coast particular mooloolaba and will be heading there in about 8 weeks time if all things go well.
Hope you find it easy to settle in and enjoy it

If I remember, isnt your partner a chippie, if hes got the blue card etc already I bet he'll be working next week! there is a dire shortage of Qualified tradesmen up here due to the house boom, backlog of a years work if you believe the papers, nice money too

Hi,
To answer questions
you get 64kgs as standard flying via the US.
Doing stops on the way is highly recommeded as you get to recharge for a while and no jet lag. We got a round the world ticket as this was cheaper than a one way with the stops we want to do. Fiji is worth a vist do a Captain cook sailing safari for 4 nights cost about 150 pounds but you sleep on your own island. Snorkel in the most amazing reefs all food is including and soft drinks and tea and it is on a tall ship.
Dotty - Yes hubby is a chippy, just got a blue card yesterday for safety and is wanted already. He had one guy phoning desperate for him to work. They are morei nto getting sub contracters though so you need your licence so he will aplly fort his possibly monday now as the weather here is crap isn't it today.

What a great start to a new life, a round the world trip, I think I will be asking my husband for that treat.
How much time did you spend in each country?? and if you dont mind me asking, how much did the plane ticket cost (ballpark figure)
Cheers
