Do UK pensioners get free health care in Australia (via Newcastle) or is it only free in eu countries? I am sure this has been asked before but there are so many pages to plough through when I search health care.

Nope, they will have the same Medicare charges as everyone else for the first 2 years at least and then they may be able to apply for a health care card which is means tested. In the interim they will have to pay for medications and may have to pay a co-payment for GPs (depends on whether the doctor will bulk bill them or not).
They would not be eligible for age pension payments from Aus until they had been here 10 years

I think you need to tell us what type of visa the pensioner you are thinking of has.
