Hayfever.
We are considering a move from the UK to Brisbane.
I suffer badly from hay fever - mornings at this time of year being the worst.
I just wondered if anyone else that suffered badly in the UK could say whether they found it better or worse in Brisbane, ( or other parts of Oz ).
I wondered as the flora iz Oz, I expect, is very different than in the UK.
Thanks,
Tony.

I also suffer quite badly from hayfever. In country areas of australia it is quite bad but in more built up areas I experience it less.

Re: Hayfever.
If your doctor will prescribe it for you, Kenalog is one hell of a medication for hayfever sufferers. It's a steroid injection (you won't get massive muscles!) and it takes about 24 hours to kick in, it's like you've never had hayfever before. It lasts for about 6 weeks. I started suffering from an early age, had all the tests, did the winter course of injections which made me sick so binned that idea. Had my first kenalog injection in '89 and continued for about 10 years. There can be side effects which were pointed out to me much later on, like it can bring on osteoarthritis or prematurely bring on diabetes, as my dad had diabetes I felt it best to knock it on the head.
But what a medication for hayfever! It seems that my suffering is getting less, I like to cycle and motorbike it into work and these are my worst times of suffering. Am I growing (?) out of it finally, I'm only 41 so not long for you younger sufferers to wait!
I also find lots of wine helps.

Thanks all....
Think I will just have to wait and see if I am lucky and find it better over there.
Cheers....

Apparently Melbourne has one of the highest asthma rates in the developed world.
The Chief of Staff developed it for the first time last Spring.
