I'm in agreement with so much to get your head around when you move over here, starting up a new business or career seem's the harder option.....

But to get something in this life you gotta fight for it!

PP: how about reading a few different papers/magazines/journals which are published in Oz....you can often borrow them from the library. Find several authors whose style you like, then email them individually explaining a little about yourself and that you are after someone who can give you guidance...that you are new to the country etc, and that you'd be happy to buy them coffee and cake in return for the occasional chat.

You could also do the same with some of the people who lecture on journalism courses.

Got to be worth a try.

I have found you need money to write for a living. It can take a while to get paid - Im still waiting on a payment for something.

Its nice if you have the money to write for a living and where it can also be done for pleasure because you can afford to wait for a payment.

I suspect we will hit the ground running when we land, taking any job that is going.
