has anyone applied for an unskilled job in New Zealand and used it as work training for a NZ qualification? For example a farm worker but also studying for a farming qualification on the shortages list - eventually applying for permanent residency under General Skills whilst in NZ.

Do you think this is possible? has anyone else tried anything similar? irealise a job has to be proved to be unfilable by a new zealander but their are hundreds of these jobs and often with accomodation.
