Is guinness a popular drink in Melbourne and can you buy it in cans ?

I live in Perth now but I did live in Melbourne for five yrs, seven years ago, and yes you could get Guinness in mainly Irish pubs but now some mainstream pubs have it on tap too. I bought my husband a case of it at Christmas as a surprise, it was a bloody surprise to both of us as it was $65 for a case ( 24 Cans), I know if you convert to euro thats not so bad, but when you know you can get a case of good beer for $30-$35 it seems really expensive. But it was a treat and he loved it. Like at home, some pubs will do a better pint than others, here in Perth, J.B O'Reillys and the Irish club do a good Guinness, Paddy Maguires not so good, this is according to my husband, I don't mind the odd drop of Guinness, but I am more of a beer/wine/vodka/J.D/jim beam, drinker myself hope this helps.... I didn't mean all in the one glass, tried it once, not so nice, mind you, tried it all in different glasses, ....not so nice the next day either !!
