GP & Vet Recommendations for Townsville ?
Hi there,
looking out for a friendly, good GP and also a vet (got 2 cats) in Townsville area. Although we live 4 hours west of Townsville we go there fairly often and it would be good to know where to go if necessary.

[Hi, fortunate enough not to have seen a doctor yet, I think the A Team may have some idea on this one!
Regarding vets, I will ask my friend tomorrow who she uses for her dogs. Will let you know.

Hi
My OH is a vet and does locum work all around Australia. He's worked at Western Suburbs Vet Clinic at Kirwan several times. He'd work there all the time if he could (but it a bit of a commute from the Sunshine Coast!) He says it has great facilities and great staff who genuinely care about the animals. Not sure if its anywhere near you, but thought I'd let you know.

Wow -four hours west of Townville - that sounds isolated, but fun.
Do you know where your closest GP is? Because a four hour drive sounds like hell if you need to see a Dr due to being sick, rather than as a planned appointment.

It is fun actually , and there is a great community spirit in our little village here. We do have a doc and a little so-called hospital, so are covered for emergencies or normal things. Just thought if there is something which I feel I can't get any further out here, then it would be good to know a good GP in Townsville (same goes for the vet).
