Congratulation - so lucky you haven't got the long wait like the rest of us.
Good luck with your move.

The front end loaded spouse visa processing procedure has been in place
onshore for about 18 months and has proven very successful. Good to see
that it's working in London. Note that 45 minutes processing time is a
pretty good effort, because it seems to take at least an hour onshore.
Perhaps the austimeline people ought to running an hours and minutes
table...

For those who came in late, it is possible to request on the spot processing
at all relevant Australian offices of DIMIA and some overseas posts. To do
this, first check with DIMIA or the post that the service is available, and
then complete the forms, do the medicals and police clearances, make an
appointment and turn up at DIMIA or the overseas post with these documents
plus your passports, proof of cohabitation/marriage/bank statements,
personal statements and statements of friends etc and see how you go. The
good news is that even if you have overlooked something, it is most likely
that the case officer will identify whatever is outstanding immediately and
process you through to completion in no more than a week.

But do make sure that the visa granting office offers this service. Moscow,
New Delhi, Nairobi are unlikely to offer this kind of procedure, ever...

Cheers
