got to be a quicky

Sorry for the strange title, but can't have any e-mails from here spoiling the surprise.
I've gone and booked the wedding on Rottnest for the 14th of next month. Now,if any of you are likely to meet Mrs BB to be,it's a secret-no putting your foot in it (no names mentioned Paula M).
So if any of you are out there that day,we need 2 witnesses-maybe Badgers'll want to do the double!! Decided we don't want a big do,and we're not inviting anyone from Aus,so as not to upset the folks in Blighty.Just me and BB jnr as bezzy man-oh and the celebrant.
Bit of a quick post while the current intended has a shower,so I'll post more when I get a chance.
Just to say my new jobs crap
BB-I'm not p***** you know-yet

That's lovely. Rottnest Island looks beautiful, I hope to get there when I visit WA one day.

If you see any quokka kickers please string them up by the balls if you get a minute.

downunderpom Oct 16th 2003 3:38 pm

Ummm......

I hate to be the fly in the ointment here, but I wanted to do exactly the same thing - surprise wedding and all that, in Perth, April 2001.

Unfortunately.... unless it's changed since then, you have to get BOTH signatures on the 'intent to marry' document 30 days before the event, or no go.

Just checked:
http://www.justice.wa.gov.au/display...26%20Marriages
A 'notice of intended marriage' must be completed and lodged with the person who is going to perform the ceremony (proposed celebrant) at least one month, but no more than 18 months, before the preferred date of marriage. The notice is obtained from the proposed celebrant

So, I had to broach the subject beforehand - like a month before we went.

(She said 'yes' and blubbed!)

Still, it was a good laugh - me in my trainers because I'd lost my shoes, and two great blokes from the Registry office as witnesses! (I wanted to put the money where it counted - on her finger!)

So, sorry about that, but 'forewarned is forearmed', and this way the wedding can actually go ahead!

Hope yours turns out as well as mine!!

Baldbutts enjoy the day and I hope it is the memory of your life. I did the deed last year and it is worth it.

Other than bollock strangling does anyone know the penalties for Quokka Soccer?

No it hasn't changed. We just went and filled in our forms the other day for a wedding in December 2003.

No worries.
Just to re-cap-proposed at our leaving bash (pre-planned-had a ring and everything)-after 11 years of torture,I mean bliss. So Mrs BB 2b knows we're getting wed sometime.
Managed to get her signature as we've signed loads of stuff with the house sale, and one more form un-read was easy-devious chap aint I-and have used Abergas' address for receiving tickets and stuff.
I'll tell her a day or 2 before, mean while,me and Jnr are off to the suit hire shop the morrow, seen a couple of wicked harlequin suits-nice.Mini me springs to mind.
I'll try to post a piccy here, but Mrs BB likes internet anonymity-ever since "the op".Maybe I'll hide the camera and give exclusive honeymoon shots-just be of me chucking me ring up slashed out of me face though !!

Cheers for bringing this up though,Downunder,I got caught out with this a few years ago when we were here on our hols.

Congrats BB

Will be thinkin ov u on Nov 14th............

Jamie, Harry, Friends
There’s just a few more hours.
That’s all the time you’ve got.
A few more hours
Before they tie the knot.

Doolittle
There are drinks and girls all over London, and I’ve
gotta track ‘em down in just a few more hours!
I’m getting married in the morning!
Ding dong! The bells are gonna chime.
Pull out the stopper!
Let’s have a whopper!
But get me to the church on time!
I gotta be there in the mornin’
Spruced up and lookin’ in me prime.
Girls, come and kiss me;
Show how you’ll miss me.
But get me to the church on time!
If I am dancin’
Roll up the floor.
If I am whistlin’
Whewt me out the door!
For I’m gettin’ married in the mornin’
Ding dong! the bells are gonna chime.
Kick up an rumpus
But don’t lost the compass;
And get me to the church,
Get me to the church,
For Gawd’s sake, get me to the church on time!

Doolittle and Everyone
I’m getting married in the morning
Ding dong! the bells are gonna chime.

Doolittle
Drug me or jail me,
Stamp me and mail me.

All
But get me to the church on time!
I gotta be there in the morning
Spruced up and lookin’ in me prime.

Doolittle
Some bloke who’s able
Lift up the table,

All
And get em to the church on time!

Doolittle
If I am flying
Then shoot me down.
If I am wooin’,
Get her out of town!

All
For I’m getting married in the morning!
Ding dong! the bells are gonna chime.

Doolittle
Feather and tar me;
Call out the Army;
But get me to the church.

All
Get me to the church...

Doolittle
For Gawd’s sake, get me to the church on time!

Harry and Everyone
Starlight is reelin’ home to bed now.
Mornin’ is smearin’ up the sky.
London is wakin’.
Daylight is breakin’.
Good luck, old chum,
Good health, goodbye.

Doolittle
I’m gettin’ married in the mornin’
Ding dong! the bells are gonna chime...
Hail and salute me
Then haul off and boot me...
And get me to the church,
Get me to the church...
For Gawd’s sake, get me to the church on time!

Just an update,
thanks to those who we met at Sophia and Gareths yesterday for not letting on.
Have ordered the rings, and sorted out mine and BB jnr's suits. Was after a couple of tasteless loud ones, but can't get em in kids sizes. So just going for scarlet waist coats (no trouseres or skids-just the waistcoats).
Anyone know which is the best restaurant on Rottnest-just so that i know to avoid it and get a take-away that night.
Getting excited now-or is that nerves when you can't get off the bog ! Mrs BB TO BE still has no clue to when or where it'll happen-think she expects some time after chrimbo.but thats the divorce (tempting fate or what). So now I'm after a lawyer dealing in pre-nuptuals,as I don't want to have to give up half me thong collection should we do a J-lO
Right gotta go,she's finished bathing Jnr

Not letting on? I hadn't even read this thread and assumed you were already married! What an old romantic you are! You need to give Andy some lessons there I think, maybe one year he might remember our anniversary without me reminding him! By the way he wants to know when's the stag night (or buck's night as they call them here)?

My eldest is at Rottnest at the moment, year 7 camp. We were thinking of going there sometime, everyone tells us how great it is. Good for snorkelling/scuba-diving too, if you're into that sort of thing.

baldbutts Nov 10th 2003 9:09 pm

Well, could be my last update as a free man.
Blimey-it was hot today-nobody told me this when we applied to emigrate. So whats the forecast on Rottnest for Thursday to Saturday ?
Got the rings,BB jnr's suit fits, but mine hasn't arrived yet,and we leave Thursday morning.Mrs BB 2b is getting a little suspicious, coz I keep slipping off to see a man about a dingo.Still, she's told friends that she thinks I'm waiting till Granny Baldbutts visits in March next year. She better keep up the diet till then anyway,or she'll find out the hard way that dry slaps are legal under Australian marriage laws (at least that's what Jacqui's hubby told me-mind you,it was him with the black eye).
Met the celebrant Friday, and sorted out the ceremony

Celebrant : Do you Baldbutts,take........

Me : Yeah Whatever...........

Celebrant : Do you,Mrs BB 2b,realise that you're depriving the birds of a right good looking geezer,or do you promise to share him with any fit birds/mates that he fancies ??

Mrs BB 2B :Of course I'll share him-far too many inches for one girl anyway.

Celebrant : BB you hunk of meat you, kiss her or summat, and make all the birds (and some blokes-even though you're the last bloke in the universe to have them tendancies) jealous.

And that's it folks,we'll then wander off the beach with me ghetto blaster playing "Another one bites the pillow-I mean dust" followed by "7 tears " by the Goombay dance band. Not particularly apt,but it's me favourite song of all time.

While you're here, best fill you in on the resat of our happenings here.
House sale completes Friday-same day as we wed,but seems my-i mean our-money we transfered wont clear till then,so looks like we'll delay till Tuesday.
Also, got a job as a right dogsbody on about 8 and a half cents an hour, plus all the cancerous dust in lofts I can breath, installing air-con.God it was crap. But managed to get the guy to only use me 3 days a week-bonus with doing up the house.
Then yesterday,he informs me He's given up half his jobs to slow down a bit and lays me off-happy wedding day mate-beat me to it the b*****d.Still, found another job straight away, wiring swimming pools and bore pumps.Again hard work, but I'm now on decent money, and still only 3 days a week.Start Tuesday.Said I could start Friday, then I could cancel the wedding, but he wouldn't take the responsibility.
And as for the exchange rate..You'll like this, summat to laugh at our expense.
Few weeks back, sent Granny BB to send funds over to me via the Commonwealth bank.Anyway,I ring up TSB to tell em shes on the way for security reasons (she never takes off her crash helmet coz of severefacial herpes) and they tell me that they can exchange for more than a cent more than C/Wealth.I then cancel that payment, then decide to wait till the UK put up their interest rate to see what happens...
Result,we lose thousands in a week, and change up for 2.3385.
I'm gutted, but not down.We still have a decent car, nice house, (when it's finished and sold)Mrs BB to be doesnt have to work, and I only work 3 days anyway.Much better than what we had in Blighty.
If you'd offered me this a few months back, when our house in the UK nearly made me return,I'd've ripped yer arm off.(Hope I sound convincing)
Righto-wish us luck, and that Mrs BB to b doesnt have a sudden reality check.I'll get her to post when we return.

Just one small query - what is Mrs BB 2B wearing on Friday? I mean you've organised suits for yourself and junior, but she doesn't know what's going on, presumably she won't be getting up on Friday and putting a pair of jeans on?
And you'll have to work more than 3 days a week to pay for all that stuff she ordered at the party plan the other day...........
