Thanks, we're going to have to get up that way at some point...looks lovely, but i think maybe for a longer stay, its probably a bit too far for a night or two I can only take so many "are we there yet's?" for a weekend away!

Its about two hour drive to Maroochydore and we often go for a two night stay - Not too close and not too far.

One night and its not worth pitching the tent.

We have done Ballina in NSW for two and three nights and Warrick (inland) for two and we are going down to Grafton, NSW in a couple of weekends time for two nights to enjoy the Jacaranda festival and fireworks.

When you are up for your longer trip try Noosa North Shore. More natural beach setting then the usual caravan parks. You access it by going over the Noosa river on the car ferry. You then have access to miles of empty beaches to drive on and inland tracks and lakes.
