Good places for beachside camping?

We are thinking of going camping this weekend with the kids and wondered if anyone could recommend either any nice quiet beach side sites, or even better a nice beach where your ok just to pitch your tent, we'll have the 4x4 so can go off track but not had much practice off roading so don't want to be too adventurous for our first shot! ...we're at the southern end of the gold coast so we were thinking maybe around the NSW border, don't really fancy a drive of more than maybe an hour or so..........

anyway any suggestions would be great :)

Hi, I love the beach at Lennox Head, it's seven miles long (so you should find a quiet spot) and has a camp site opposite. At the northern end i have seen 4x4.... Google it and see if you fancy it.

I've seen the one at Kingscliff Lindsay and it is on the beach, there are lots of cafes and restaurants there too. We love Northern NSW beaches. the only problem you have is where to choose. I don't know where you can 4x4 though, i'll be interested in that too!

We went beach front at Caloundra last year and didn't rate that too well, and the drive to the sunny coast can be long!

Personally, i dont think i would go all the way to the sunny coast when you have NSW beaches on your doorstep, 30 mins away, with trips to Byron, Cabarita etc.

See you tomorrow!
xxxx

I find it shocking that so many people surf around stradie??????

Yeah I think the one in Kingscliffe looks lovely and as you say its not too far especially if its just for the weekend, quite like the look of their Surfari tents but i suppose thats cheating!! :p
