good interest rates in the uk
Hi we are about to move over to oz ( in two weeks - v scared) but dont want to move our money yet as the exchange rate is pretty poor, any advice on good holding accounts or high interest accounts that will allow quick transfers and good exchange rates - am a novice at this and am sure there are some good options available but not sure where to look.

There's some good information here:

Halifax at 6.17% seems the best, but I've seen 6.8% in Australia so it depends on the movement in the GBPAUD rate. So, you need to believe that the GBP will appreciate by more than about 10% against the AUD over a year to make it worthwhile keeping your money in the UK. Are you that bullish on the GBP? Because I'm not!

In theory you need an account for offshore residents, something like this:

Which gives you 6.1% interest...
