Default Gold coast (Helensvale) rentals etc

Hi all ,

Any advice gratefully received! We are a family of 4, mum dad and sons aged 8 & 13. Hoping to move to the Helensvale area around Jan/Feb 08. Initially plan to spend 2/3 weeks in holiday accommodation/b&b. Then will need a rental property (3/4 bed with pool), then will look to buy (4/5 bed with pool).

It would really help me out if anybody in that area could give me some advice please, particularly about good websites to look for properties, experience of good/bad schools, any areas to give thumbs up to or avoid?

Many thanks,
Ren

Hi

Have you looked on www.realestate.com.au for both rentals and purchasing. Please remember that it is school/christmas holidays here until the end of January so February would be a lot cheaper in respect of flights and accommodation.

I can only go of what I have seen and renting a 3/4 bedroom unfurnished house with a pool would cost between $400 - $500. To purchase a 4/5 bedroom house with a pool would cost you $500 upwards.

My friends have just purchased a 4 bedroom house with a study (so 4/5 bedrooms) with a pool in Helensvale for $490 however it doesnt need quite a bit of work doing to it.

Hope this helps.

Hi, re the holiday accommodation - we currently have the whole of Feb available (which is quite unusual)

Quick word of advise - whatever you book for your holiday accommodation, make sure you book nice 'n early if you require more than two weeks .....

cheers

Mark
