You cant go wrong with the Gold Coast as its so beautiful, its closed to Brisbaine as well with all the theme parks, you wont be bored thats for sure. Also twice a week there are market stalls in the evening which are brilliant.

its a shame this had to be moved. i remember when we first moved to sydney. we were ripped off with accommodation, we paid over the top prices for a dump of a place.

the accommodation posted by this user seemed a very good price for a very nice place.

if it is posted in the classified section, most people wont see it (if any)

the peson who posted the photos isnt a one off poster, but someone who uses the forum for info and helps others.
i understand there must be rules, but i feel as if a lot of people who are looking for good and affordable accommodation will miss out now that this post has been removed.

is there a way that they could attach a link to their signature of the accommodation?

Thanks Soapy, I made the same comments to the Moderator in a private message to no avail. The thing is, we are not a business - just an expat family who rent out our holiday home to others. I have been a member of this site for years and have found that there is a real need for short term, furnished accommodation.
If people find accommodation like ours, they know they can trust us; not so very long ago we were in the same boat.
I think it is a real shame that the moderators cannot see a clear definition between a business trying to get free ad space and a family letting out their holiday home.
As I am no rule breaker I will abide by this decision and will never post details of my two bedroom apartment, 200m from the beach, walking distance from Broadbeach Central and some great restaurants, again.
Furthermore, if people put in a search for 'Broadbeach' and happen across photos of our apartment I would urge them not to look!

Cheers

Mark;)

Going out to validate in August, where should we stay to see some life?

Is it really cold, do we need to take lots of winter stuff?

How long will you be on the Gold Coast for?

The winter whether here is absolutely and perfectly lovely. I think it is the best time of the year here.

For me, the humidity of summer is uncomfortable, so the winter comes as a hugh relief. :)

Main Beach, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach are all good to visit. Oh, and don't forget the hinterland, Tamborine mountain etc. Bring a few winter things, not too many though, it is still lovely and toasty warm during the day. Perfect in fact.

hello stranger, nice to hear from you:)

how is life mate?
i thought giving other expats an idea of accommodation is a great idea. theres plenty of threads naming hotels on the gold coast and they never get deleted?
but this time its another BE member trying to help others. im sure the mods could have looked back and checked old posts (like i did) to see if they they were just touting.

Hiya we went in August last year and could not belive how warm it was, it does get cold in the eve/mornings, but I only think you would notice that more when you have climatised (sorry spelling) to the weather, we were in shorts and t shirt where as some of the people living there were in wooly jumpers.

The posts were removed by Sue, as it says under each of them. She is an Administrator and co-owner of the site. If you wish to discuss it please take it up with her.

As for the people who constantly sling mud at the Mods in general, without us this site would be a lot worse off, or maybe you all like wading through pages of personal abuse and ads for fake watches?

-----------------------------------------

Now, to get back to those who had their posts removed - if you have a website for your company/property, you may add the URL to your signatures, as Soapy suggested - that way it will appear at the foot of each and every one of your posts. You can also add the website in your profile as your homepage. If you're not sure how to do that please pm me and I'll help you out :)
(see Rule 16 "16. Member Signatures
Your signature can be used to promote your site, business, or other ventures as long as they relate to you personally."
