WE had the same trouble with the house, we only got in by 2 days of our visa expired. So hang on in there it can turn around quite quickly. All the best and good luck.

Sounds like your vet did give them the lepto vaccine in August, it would be incredible to still be reading positive 18 months later. I had to remind my vet several times, even when he was making up the vaccine boosters to make sure he didn't add it.
I suppose worst case senario is they stay at golden arrowe until their blood tests read negative and hope that somebody else has had to cancel at the quarantine centre and your dogs take their place.
Wish I could be more optimistic.

We are going to keep the dogs indoors for the next few days away from any lepto environments, which would make their anitbodies react and go up, then have them both re-tested on Tuesday. So long as they have not risen (Hollie is on the travelling borderline) they can still travel on January 15th. That's another £200 to get them re-tested though

Hope its good news for you, rats carry lepto, and to be honest unless they are running through a soggy puddle filled rubbish dump they probably wont come across it, but good luck all the same.

My dog also used to like catching the rats at my horses stables hence why he was always vaccinated against Lepto. When I had to skip it from his boosters I have avoided taking him anywhere that is of high risk.
A4T has been advised correctly to keep the dogs indoors Lepto is more common than people realise.

have to admit i kept my dogs away from the park where we usually walk and just exercised them outside our flat in the few days running up to the test.
edinburgh is quite notorious for lepto and it's something vets are v vigilant about it.
still have fingers crossed for my doggies.
anne glad to hear things might be sorted.... hoepfully we're back on track!! as i said in PM.... dinnae let them give you any of their pish!!

One of my sisters has a great story of everything falling into place perfectly, even down to selling the car days before flight and the buyer letting them keep it until the day they headed for heathrow!
The other - a complete nightmare! house sale fell through... TWICE. They had to go and leave the house in the hands of their solicitor and estate agent. Then they found out their CASH buyer was actually relying on an inheritance that hadn't actually been through probate! But it all went through in the end... several months later. They lived off their credit cards and were up until 2.00am waiting to speak to their solicitor.
It all went through.. eventually and they got their money. They are now living in Coloundra on the sunshine coast and loving it. They still need to find a home of their own but their 4 year old loves his new life and his school and the baby is in kindergarten 2 days per week, Marie has made lots of great new friends and met up with some old ones who migrated years ago. I can confidently say they have no regrets despite all the worry (which didn't get anything sorted out any quicker as it happens). Marie would tell you to try to chill, go with the flow and stay focused, you will get there... and when you do you will think it was all worth it.
Fingers crossed for you.
Best wishes.
Susan.

Now we have heard that both of our dogs have had a positive result back on the Lepto blood test. I have rung Golden Arrow who tell me that this keeps on happening and perhaps they changed the make up of the vaccine quite a while back. All that is great but Australia will not accept the dogs with a positive result. If we have to cancel their flight in 2 weeks time then we will have a 3 month wait before we can get the dogs booked into Perth quarantine station as they are so booked up. We need to validate our visas by the end of April and don't really want to have to fork out on flights out there just to come back again. When we go we want it to be for good.
I am now getting REALLY STRESSED.
Getting the visa was the easy part

Well the dogs had their second lot of blood tests today so fingers crossed for a good result. Poor Hollie has had her whole throat shaved off as they had trouble finding a good vein. I might have to knit a little scarf for her if she doesn't get over to the warmth soon
