Like they could even spot a stolen lipstick anyway.

To make matters for me far worse try shopping with a sleeping baby in a pram and trying not to disturb the little'un when they insist you open all the nappy bags, used or not. (I kid you not!)

As for CCTV I for one think its a great idea to keep all us law abiding people safe!

I once entered a supermarket here and when I got to the counter, the silly bitch wanted to charge me for a pedestal fan I bought in another shop in the same mall. I promptly told her that her store didn't sell them, so why ask? Then she said it was policy and could she see my receipt. I told her when she could prove to me they stocked that brand of pedestal fan, in that size, then I would show her my receipt! Lol

Needless to say, she did not get the manager and did not try to charge me for what I bought elsewhere.

The problem? She was all of abour 16 or 17, was a bit slow on the uptake, and thought that what management had told her was gospel!

Unfortuantely this type of occurrence happens all too often in OZ :(

Well here's where it gets daft and proves it's a pointless exercise that is there solely to make some small minded person feel powerful. They check your bags on exit so you have already shopped and paid for it, so what they gonna do? Throw you out?

I’ve actually tried this in Bunnings and refused the search cos I was pissed off. All I got was a look of horror that looked like I was the first and only one to ever do this. Went outside to the car then remembered I’d forgotten something so went back and bought it, no comeback or repercussions, nothing, nada. So I now make a point and a stand on it and refuse a search, If every one did the same the small minded ineffectual non deterrent would soon disappear.

Nice :D

I don't give a stuff how much banana's are to be honest. I don't eat them that much anyway. Nor lettuce for that matter (it makes me hungry)

I don't care if it's sunny all the time or if it rains. I don't care if we are on less money or more. I don't care if my house is like a shoebox or has a swimming pool.

As long as I am with my hubby and kids and we are all healthy then that is all that matters at the end of the day. One thing I know for definate, I will not compare there to the UK and I will not EVER set foot in the UK again.

If we don't like Adelaide then we will try Brisbane, if there doesn't "hit the spot" then we will move somewhere else. If Oz doesn't "do it" for us at all then we are going to live in Zakynthos.

:)

Well I've had a read of some of a lot of his previous postings when I was accused of virtually sleeping with him and I could see no reason for the troll badge. He just says it like it is and how he sees it. This doesn't make him a troll any more than it makes me one. To me if you read a post from someone that dislikes Oz or says anything bad about it, you just have to diss that person somehow to try and dilute the argument. I'm begging to think you work for the Oz tourist board and your job is exactly that, to deflect and camouflage any negative comment on Oz. Am I right?

You can tell them to F 'off. They have no legal right to accost or detain you. Most people go back with them due to feeling guilty or that they have no rights and a "decent" person should do as they say. I once got stopped by the bu***ars cause my library books had some metal things in them that set off the detector lol!

Errr No! if the suffragettes had had this mentality then woman would still not have the vote. Nothing wrong with a bit of peaceful protest to try and change things for the better and who could argue that no longer getting your bags checked would be an advantage? The problem with Australia is exactly that no one gives a toss so they all get shat on from a great height and no one complains so nothing changes and we will for ever live in a rear facing country just waiting for the next turn of a century to happen, (The 19th century that is!)

Doesn't mean you have to like it.

It gets even better for you Arkon. In the UK, not only are the bananas cheaper but you get a free illegal immigrant with every kilo sold (maybe 2 free, the government isn't sure how many there are to give away). :D

And after you have bought your cheap bananas you can look forward to filling up at Tesco for nearly $2.50 a litre. Today, for the first time it cost me over £50 to fill up (but some of you would say that's only $50 right?) :scared: And, even better news, the government is proposing to put a satellite device in all UK cars to charge you for mileage (£1.40 per mile was mooted).

Does Tesco have a swings and roundabouts section? :D
