Michael Gaff at Flight Centre on Lonsdale Street was very helpful when we booked our tickets a few weeks back. The phone number is 03 9662 1044.

Best;

Thanks will give him a bell, what sort of prices did you get?

Looked on singapore airlines site, if you book lon / mel =£650

if you book in oz mel / lon = £950!!!!!

I thought the rules changed last year enabling you to book from any country, but the web sites do not reflect this.

If you are looking for the cheapest option maybe consider Jetstar from Avalon to Perth (about A$220 per person each way) and then Perth to the UK on (say) Emirates via Dubai.

The return flight to (say) London Gatwick from MEL on Emirates costs about A$3,850 (per the Emirates website, departure and return this coming June); from PER the return flight cost is A$2,600. I haven't looked at other airlines.

So that's a possible saving of about $800 per adult ... before allowing for any additional accommodation, etc.

Best regards.

Thanks Alan will look at that, it would just be me traveling, so I can be flexable.

Cheers

From Singapore both Qantas and BA do returns to UK for Sing $ 988 which when you add on tax works out to be about S$1400 return.

HTH.

Dunno like but have you tried Air NZ?

They have just put their prices up by 10% due to the fuel surcharge....
Best of luck though.

I can't remember exactly. They were the same as on the Emirates website - $1400 return I think. Melbourne - Birmingham via Dubai.

Hi! I had to get back to the uk urgently awhile back and was on a flight that night with singapore airlines...they always seem the cheapest whether i book at the last minute or from a few months in advance but this is flying from Brisbane to Heathrow, did it all on the internet and booked it straight away on line, did it direct with the airline....hope this helps and good luck.
