I know that this has been done to death, but whats the latest opinion of the airlines flying back to the UK (from Perth)

Need to go back sometime next week (had the dreaded call) and no doubt, airlines have changed since I flew last.

Can't comment on flights from Perth sorry - only ever flew from Sydney, but just wanted to say safe trip and I hope its not too stressful. The call is never a good reason to be going home.

So sorry to hear. Not a good reason to have to fly back.

Hubby had to go back a couple of weeks ago (also from Perth) following one of those calls. He ended up flying with Emirates as flight availability was limited & he was also tight on holiday. Cost just under $3000 for the flight & to be honest there wasn't really anything cheaper available. Even with Air Asia by the time you've added on all the extras like baggage, etc it cost about the same. I really wanted to be there too but we simply couldn't afford for us all to fly back.

Whenever we fly to Perth we fly with Emirates. The route is hugely better than any other for us - Glasgow to Dubai (8 hours), Dubai to Perth (9 hours). And we bypass London / avoid the 13 hour flight London - Singapore which we find is really taxing.

My Mrs just went back for her mum's funeral - Emirates, best for Manchester, cost - about $2700

i tend to fly with singapore airlines, always had good service, cheap prices and you can book in and select your food online.
For next week you will be looking at $1670 the week after is about $1450
