How long are you actually on the plane/in air for when you fly from the UK to Adelaide.??? Just read that it's 19.5 hours...is this correct...

Sounds about right, as its usually around 24 hours to the east coast from the UK. Varies a bit according to the airline (different routes) and the time of year (different wind strengths & directions)

depends on the route you fly - will you go via asia, US etc? london to Hong Kong is about 10 hours, then Hong Kong to Sydney is about 12 hours, then Sydney to Adelaide is approx 2.5 hours.....

Taking as direct a flight as possible - ie Singapore Airlines, Heathrow - Singapore - Adelaide - in December
London - Singapore - 12 hours 40 minutes airborne
Singapore - Adelaide - 7 hours 15 minutes airborne.
Thats from Expedia, and looks like the quickest possible "in the air" time. Gives you 9 hours on the ground in Singapore, though.
