Same prices at Shell stations, and they even say "No Ethanol in the Petrol". I'm grateful for the subsidy, but not sure why some other states dont get it eg: WA ?

The reason for the lower price of fuel in Brisbane is that apparently the Canbera government tax fuel but also allow the states and territories to further tax fuel if they so desire. The Queensland government choose not to tax it's people.

So I was told.

I just looked it up, and it looks like you are correct; according to the Australian Automobile Association:
"Qld petrol is subject to an 8 cent rebate from the state government"

I thought it was a federal thing, but its State

The Queensland government choose not to tax it's people as much as the others.
