Few questions about medical stuff in Perth
Hi all,
I have asked a similar question previously - but can't find it now. Sorry. But anyway quite specific questions these so if anyone can help.
Doctors - is it like the UK where you register with a particular practice? What is the process with this please?
Diabetic - I'm diabetic - I have asked the question previously about Metformin and costs, and the answer was the price varies depending where you go? Does anyone have any links or experience of buying these meds so as to give me an indicative cost please?
Regards
James

You can go to any doctor or as many as you want. You don't have to "register" like you do in the UK - really handy if you are in to tranquilizers.
As for your medication, you're laughing, it's on the PBS:

The PBS price to consumer - last column - is that the price I should expect to pay over the counter then? Sorry if the questions sound really dumb but I have absolutely no idea what PBS is or the druh buying process in Australia.
Thanks

I think that's the case, yes. It won't be too expensive and if you spend over (I think) $1500 a year on medical expenses you can tax deduct anything over that.
