Default Feedback on Grace Removals?

We will be sending our container to Brisbane and the relocation company is using Grace Relocations on the Bris end.
Anyone had any experience using them?

Our boxes were handled by them at the Brisbane end. However, we had moved down to Victoria before they arrived. Grace were fantastic - they sent our 30 boxes down on a lorry/train for just $50 extra as they said there's always spare room so no need for a special trip. Very easy. All happened when they said it would. Guys very friendly this end.

Would definitely use them again.

WA Education dept uses them as their preferred shippers for teachers moving around the state.
So we have used Grace, and they were excellent.

I might try them next time - I used Pickfords from WA to QLD - only a little pricer than Grace. Grace's Insurance was not as good as i recall and was expensive compared to Pickfords. When we did our estimate Grace were cheaper on the move costs, but when you added like for like insurance they were more expensive ending up about $50 apart.

I went with Pickfords as I used them for the UK move and all was fine in that regard (except for the price)

On the next move back to WA I will try Grace I think - Pickfords damaged 2 items and lost 1 - took over 3 months for them to process the claim with threats of taking it further (they didnt admit they had lost the item and claim it was delivered - it was a single bed so god knows how they lost it!)

Sorry no idea, as friends live in houses, but have you found that to be a problem? If so, is that only for a walk-up apartment?

(Am moving soon myself, to 4th and 5th floors.)

Hi Seasider,

Had a problem on the UK side when we shipped our stuff back from US to UK.

We already had a 3rd floor apartment in UK with a large lift and told them so.

After being promised the earth by the removal company in US that there would be no problem delivering to the 3rd floor we weren't worried.

Of course on the day the container arrived the crew were not happy it took several calls to the company before they agreed to do it.

Made the day very stressful but eventually resolved.

I would try and get it written into the contract if you can, the last thing you need is grief on the day your belongings arrive.

Good luck

Thanks BriBri, I would never have thought to check that but there are so many apartments here, I would be amazed if it's an issue. I will still confirm it though.

We're already here, and moving from a rented house. Having a 20ft container lorry parked outside our tiny whaler's cottage was "fun" and the neighbours were a bit pissed, to say the least. I was sure they'd park on the main road and move it down with a smaller truck. This was Kent, BTW, who did this end on behalf of Unigroup Worldwide UTS. Both were fab.
