Thanks ever so much for all your help and suggestions. I'm a bit worried now though cos I just read a thread about how bad it is working in Oz, lazy people, sexist men etc.

Is the answer to open your own business??

I think it depends on your job, who you work for, what sort of company it is, etc etc. Everybody's working environment is differrent - after all, in the UK you can come up against all the work 'negatives' - sexism, laziness, long hours, poor pay, unpaid overtime, etc etc, jyst as you could in Oz (or any other country).

But what you should bear in mind is that you ARE going to a different country, with a different culture, with different attitudes, etc etc - so things will be different. Australia isn't a replica of the UK after all (and presumably, you dont want it to be). You may come up against what you consider 'archaic' attitudes (compared to UK), just as may come up against 'innovative' ones.
