Default family assistance payments- what does it say on yr statement?

I'm trying to make my thread titles less ambiguous

I've received a payment today, but I'm not sure precisely what it's for and as my claim hasn't competed yet- I'm confused! What does it read when you get a fmaily assistance payment and what does it read for the stimulus payments that weren't linked to tax year last tax year (the payments that were dependant on resident status in feb this year)? Thanks.

Mine just says 'Aus Gov Families' and the reference number. That's all it said for the last Stimulus payment as well.

Ours is confusing as it comes up as PENSION PAYMENT (we're not even 30 yet) followed by a long spiel of things including GOV and FAMILIES and ref numbers. The stimulus payment was just lumped in with one of the regular payments.

One says AUS GOV FAMILIES and the other says HSP FAMILY PAYMT but neither are amounts I expected So I guess they'll send an explanatory letter soon ...

A pension is a regular government payment for almost anyone, at any age.

Payments to single parents for example are called "Single Parent Pensions"
Disabled people get the "Disability Pension"

The word Pension is not used the same in Australia as it is in the UK.

Oh yeah that's makes sense - I guess that's why it's referred to more as superannuation

It did catch me out when I first came over to Australia, and my younger sister told me she was a pensioner... I was still in my thirties
