Default failing the passmark but getting a NZ work permit

Hello to everyone! I'd like to introduce myself - my name is Argent, and I've only recently arrived at this forum but I'm sure glad to be here! (shaking hands all around).

I'm in a bit of a bind. I'd like to know if anyone who ever failed the passmark (but met the pool mark) was ever granted a visa. I work as a Graphic Designer and eversince they raised the passmark this month - previously it was at 110 which I managed to meet based on some online assesment forms - I think my chances significantly suffered.

I've thus shifted my plans to NZ but unfortunately, I also failed the passmark there (but only by 2 points). However, I do know that they grant working visas so you can find a job and then proceed with your PR application in NZ. So I'd also like to know if you guys ever know of anyone who was granted a work permit? A simple "yeah!" would do wonders for my sagging confidence in this endeavor...

Thanks!
