Excited and cacking it
On Wednesday morning, Himself did his regular check of his emails before he went off to work. To his immense surprise, there was one from the agency who found him the job, congratulating him on getting visa approval.
We emailed back, saying thanks for the congratulations, but it was the first we'd heard about it. Anyway, we were very excited, and expected the official email to be waiting Thursday morning.
Instead, there was another email from the agency, saying they were incredibly sorry, but the company Himself's new employers were using to do the visa work, had sent the wrong email information to them, and that our visa hadn't been approved yet. It would probably be another couple of weeks, but not to worry, at least we knew where we'd be for Christmas, etc etc. Naturally, we were deflated (again), but put a brave smile on things, like you do.
Friday morning, there was an email from the visa company - saying our visa had been approved, and including the letter from the immigration department... so we were jumping up and down all excited again
This emigrating malarky is a bit like having your first child - months of waiting, sheer terror at the thought of what it'll actually be like when it happens, intense excitement at the thought of a wholly different life - and a lot of back pain (don't ask)
If Himself finally passes his driving test a week on Tuesday (good thoughts for then, please) we'll be off to Oz the beginningish of January ::gnaws knuckles::

Bloody hell that's no way to go is it? You must have been a bit fraught by the time the real 'got it' came through. Anyway, at least that has come through Congrats.

I think I went through fraught and out the other side when the kids had their medicals - but that's a whole other story
Just can't wait to get there now.

Congratulations!!
I'm amazed at how calm you have been! I would have been a stressed out mess if someone had told me I'd got the visa and then said I hadn't.......
Good luck for the driving test and all the best for your new life!
