EUR-AUD. Change here or in Oz?

Default EUR-AUD. Change here or in Oz?
I've got a fair amount of cash in Euro notes which I was originally going to pay into my bank. But their exchange rate here in the uk is abysmal.

So I was thinking I will just change it at a forex counter for Dollars. Does anyone know if I would be better off doing that in the UK or Australia?

Can anyone recommend somewhere?

Do it in Australia. If you do it in the UK you will be paying to convert it from EUR to GBP and then again from GBP to AUD, two lots of charges/conversion skims.

When you get here, find a branch of UAE Exchange - they have very good exchange rates. Flight Centre are good too.

UAE have a branch in central station so that will be handy.
