You'd be left with a forum made up mostly full of the mods......or are you gonna ban some of us as well?

I find the only people who annoy me are my staff and the clients:sneaky:

I get back at them by introducing them together:lol:

As a generalization Brits tend to run the UK down and Australians big up Australia. I really wish it was the Brits who shouted a bit more about the positives of the UK but its not something we tend to do... but we wouldn't tell an Aussie that. :)

I'm still convinced a lot of it is demographic. The sort of people I work with are so unrecognisable as the stereotypical Aussie.

Occasionally I overhear or see stereotypical Aussie behaviour (as described on BE) and it can be annoying - as annoying as a loud Londoner - but noone I know personally or work with is like that.

Noone I know bigs up Australia. They have good lives though!

When you have been a member of this forum for a little longer you will realise that its not always as easy to actually go home as it is to say it. If life was that easy, a lot of us would be happier.

What a stereotype Australian answer , who do you think you are , you are the reason I believe Australians to be arrogant and ignorant , you have no right to tell people to leave a country , it's their choice not yours !!
Pig ignorant !!
I'm so sick of hearing the go home thing , you see things in black and white ..i'm very happy that I chose to return to the UK then I don't have to hear this crap first hand ....pull your head in and stop being a nazi !!!!
How can anyone not see YOU as arrogant after that statement .

the UK no longer has a large manufaturing industry all those jobs have gone to Asia, it has few natural resouces or agriculture its in economic decline while OZ is racing ahead.

The UK is now part of the European Union , why are you banging on about Empire , I wouldn't write off the UK yet unless thats wishfull thinking on your part ??

If I ever sense any hositlity I just look at it from another angle.

In my old UK "local" if a Pole or an Indian or any other imigrant walked in and started moaning about the UK the poor bugger would probably not make it out under his own steam, paramedics would be needed.

No the Aussies dont HAVE to like the Brits but they seem to be encouraged not too ?
That doesn't apply in the UK

If people chose their friends more wisely then they wouldn't have to make such sweeping coments about 'the Aussies'. it seems to take a certain type of migrant to always anquish abput these things. I've long suspected that every time a migrant points a finger there are three pointing back....

I'm not an Australian and I'm inclined to agree with 'redss'. I wouldn't necessarily put it as "go home" but why stay somewhere you don't like. Life's too short.

My sister in law stayed for two years to get citizenship then left. She has talked about how she hated it and would have left sooner. Why waste 2 years of your life staying in a country you can't stand so you can become a citizen when you'll probably never go back anyway! Makes no sense. Life is just too short.

Perhaps, just maybe, because there are extenuating circumstances that prevent people from just pissing off back home again because its not turned out 100% as planned.... not least of which is the shear cost involved in moving a family to the other side of the globe and then straight back again.

Well said! Sadly this is all too often the case for many who find themselves unhappy in their adopted land.
