Default Energex meter has an antenna
My electricity meter box has a short twisted antenna on top. It is wired to the unit inside the meter box but when I asked the meter girl she couldn't say why. I rang my electricity supplier TruEnergy who don't know what the antenna is for. Any ideas anyone?

Quite possibly a GSM antenna for remote readings. I know these exist (I work in the mobile phone software industry) and a quick Google suggests that Energex use them.

Thanks I'll ring them. It is possible that the previous owners were with Energex.
