employment references (again)
hello,
i've sat here this evening reading this very helpful & inspiring forum, trying not to start a 'new' thread about a topic that is clearly being discussed on a regular basis.
so firstly i'm sorry.
secondly; over 16yrs ive had four employers, the first & current will be no problem in obtaining references. these two constitute 12yrs of employment. the 4yrs between these were one at university, one travelling & the two other employers at a year each.
how important is it to get in touch with these two 'relatively insignificant' employers (all have been in the same trade). i have read on the forum that in lieu of a reference a statutary declaration may be satisfactory.
if it makes any difference, i still have all my pay slips from both these previous employers for evidence.
many thanks, james
