Yeah thats the one, there's a couple of bikers(They were shown having their last holiday in UK, selling their car at a car boot sale) who go to Adelaide and take their driving tests, a couple look at going to Florida but bottle out. A family who emigrate to NZ but barely make it to the airport in time. The couple from Bradford way were struggling to get out to Canada and were let down by a prospective employer.
Another couple emigrate to Canada to what looked like a nice spot, but it looked bleak and cold to me.

We watched a DVD last night called a migrants guide to Melbourne. All done on a home video camera driving around the suburbs and looking at showhomes etc. Sometimes highly amusing when the camera dropped down whilst driving and you caught a glimpse of leg and steering wheel!
You can get it off ebay....I found the link on here actually search under melly dvd i think.

Just an update to let you know that finally I took a look at the Melbourne DVD I ordered few weeks ago, and this are my comments:
Video quality is VERY poor and amateur. Not a bit of profesional on it (as properly warned by the seller).
There is no much narration on it, plane video takes with ambiental sound (also warned by the seller).
Car footage is sometimes useless due to the fact that the driving wheel takes most of your screen (only happens sometimes)
As for the content itself, it gives you a limited but very useful view of how the housing is and how the hole package looks when you go out to the street.
In conclusion is a good resource if you desperately need (like me) to take a look at your (hopefully) future life.
Cheers!

Not sure if anyone saw my previous post, but I sent off for the Melbourne information pack from emigrateoz (in the market place).
Well it finally came and I found it pretty useful. There was a DVD included which might interest you as an alternative to the one you have. Not sure how it would compare to yours as I haven't seen your one, but I'd review the one I have as follows:
Gave a fairly wide range of sites including coastline, main streets and some residential areas (which tied up with the rest of the pack). Video and commentary were of reasonable quality though fairly basic, but informative (there were no knees or steering wheels!
). It also showed some new homes being built in case anyone is interested in having a house built! Although I'd already been to Melbourne, I still found it useful as it covered suburbs also. The printed material was good and gave concise information about various suburbs.
Hope this helps
