Just getting the weekly itch to see sumat typically antipodean, and wondered if anyone had come across or a know a resource for Migrants Videos, or dvds etc... :beer: ???

If your interested in Melbourne there is someone advertising in the Marketplace that they have videos, books etc for migrants.

they do newspapers / books / vids etc. Also, if you subscribe to their Oz paper, you get a free vid showing the experiences of 5 or 6 different sets of migrants to Oz and Nz.:)

I have ordered "A migrant View to Melbourne" but sadfully haven´t arived yet.

It´s offered in ebay and opinions seems to be very good.

I´l let you know when I finally take a look at it.

BBC do a series on Brits relocating to Oz. I've forgotten the name, might want to try the BBC shop and have a look.

I've got a video I bought from Outboundpublishing, its at least a couple of years old. It features British people making the move to various countries outside of the UK, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA. It's about 3 years old. I have bagged it up to take up the tip with the rest of our rarely watched videos.

If anyone wants it, I could post it. Its not particularly brilliant, but its free. Maybe if several people want it, it could be posted on in the order people ask for it on this thread.

Clive James once did a programme on Melbourne and they are showing some of his US ones (Las Vegas, Dallas etc) on Sky Travel at the moment. Not sure if they will get round to showing the Melbourne one though. Also not sure if they ever put them on VHS/DVD either.

Yeah we bought one at the sandown show and it was from outbound , shows the lifes of so many familys migrating , ups and downs etc , quite good. We lent it out and never got it back .

Is that the video where , theres a couple from up bradford way, moving to canada, cos it looks nice on tv, hes a cook and she works on the market,... that couple were funny.. at the beginning of their video diary the baby is in a hi chair and end of video diary the kids running round with a tash lmao...

unfortunately with these videos they dont mention the timelines and visa application procedures of the individuals... i wonder if this couple ever got to canada ???
