At least this weekend his is. For any fans out there, the annual Elvis festival is taking place this weekend in Parkes NSW. The biggest Elvis gathering in the Southern hemisphere. Staring on Friday the Elvis express (train) arrives in Parkes from Sydney, the towns population swells by thousands, there is a street parade on Saturday with stalls, lookalike, singalike, movealike etc etc all weekend, even ‘The Dish’ is cashing in offering the chance to contact Elvis should he really be up in the heavens somewhere. A local hotel ‘Gracelands’ (what else) is one of many venues laying on the entertainment, oh and not to forget the Sunday morning gospel Elvis style service.

I unfortunately will not be able to make the Brisbane meet this weekend since a greater calling in the form of an invite to Parkes has come in.

Anyone else going?.
