Re: Electrical items
Struggling with this as I dont want to blow myself up.
I have a variety of equipment including AV stuff, TV, Blue Ray Player, etc and always used a 4 gang in the UK.
Also, a computer which will have a speaker system, printer, monitor etc.
Can I whack the four gang UK plug into a australian travel adaptor and straight into the aussie wall plug or do I need to worry about step up/down transformers, etc?
i.e. I am not sure what a transformer does (except kill decepticons ), so is there a catch all which would mean I dont have to check each item individually?
Help before I blow up my new rental
Thanks
Sean

Re: Electrical items
Even if you get a DVD player that isn't multi-region, you can normally find instructions on the internet on how to convert to multiregion. I have done this with all the DVD players I have ever bought, including a DVD recorder bought here.
How ever many travel adaptors you think you might need....double it and add a couple of more. We had loads when we got her....you try finding one now though....god knows where they vanish too

Re: Electrical items
I have heard stories about using travel adaptors for too many items.
I'm not sure I would risk it.
Never used a transformer before, as that just changes the voltage... I think.
What you need is a 4 gang UK socket with an Australian plug on it.
