Electric Cookers - Just a quickie
Can anyone tell me if it is worth taking electric cookers to oz. I have plenty of room in my container so it wont cost anything to ship.

If you've got the space, take it. If you don't need it you can sell it when it gets here.

I think you'd get a better price for in the UK.
It is almost unheard of buy a house here that does not have a hot water system, a built-in oven and a cook-top set into your kitchen bench.
Stand alone cookers are extremely rare.

Freestanding cookers (not built in to the bench or a cupboard) are far more common than built-in ones nowadays in new kitchens. Built-in versions are more common in kitchens built probably pre-late 90s.
Having a stainless steel, over-sized, gas, commercial-looking cooker is the trendy thing, usually complete with a whopping great extractor fan/hood.

They might have to use an English electrician to connect it.
(yes, they could fit it.............
if it's allowed in )

Cookers here in Qld are classed as a fixture i.e there's one installed in the house when you buy it. I've never seen a house for sale or rent that hasn't got a cooker installed. It's probably a mandatory requirement here as if it were left to Queenslanders they would just cook outside on the BBQ & buy a plasma screen to fill the hole the cooker should occupy
