Re: Election
Hello,
I do follow some of the political issues going on in Australia out of interest, I am registered with the Prime Minister Media releases, also listen to some talk radio stations in OZ (via the internet), one thing must be said is that Johnny did well for Australia. The Aussies think it is time for a change, fair enough JH is losing his credibility with broken promises and so on, but is there any real opposition that can take on JH? Kevin Rudd seems to be doing very well on the polls, but is he good enough to lead Australia (and his team)? |

Re: Election
The near 60% support for the Liberals in this poll is interesting and is in complete contrast to national polls.
I think it's because many poms have seen the cock-up that a quasi-socialist, namby-pamby government has made in the UK and realise that a KRudd/Gillard government will do the same here. Heaven help us. |

Heaven help us. The trouble with socialist governments is they say one thing and do another, relying more on spin and soundbites to gain and stay in power rather than facts and substance. Oh well, if Rudd gets in I suppose we must forgive the electorate for they know not what they do. |

I'd like to know where they conduct their polls. Obviously if it is conducted in a Labor prefered seat then it is sure to favour Krudd. I have never been asked to take part in any poll.
So vote Howard and get Slimey sleezy grinning Costello?????? I love politics!! :O) |

Even if Australia switches off everything, China will make up for the reduction in CO2 within a six weeks. That's why Krudds whole climate change electioneering is a load of bollox. |

Then we could sell more coal to China, after all they a building a power station a week, or something like that.

Clean coal is part of the solution but only part. If you want a booming economy with zero emissions then it will need to be a combination of nukes, clean coal, gas, solar, wind and wave.

That does raise a good point. What is the point in going nuclear when the amount of CO2 we generate is minimal. I don't even see the point in bothering with clean coal for domestic consumption, unless we can sell it to the Chinese.

Re: Election
But if we develop the technology it will be very valuable when China India and the USA eventually jump on the band wagon.
