As I understand it. Your vote will be classed as a donkey vote and will therefore go to the governing party, ie Librals

And, while we're on the subject - can anyone explain the preference voting system?

(Use extra paper if required)

It sounds as deliberately obfuscating (now *there's* a favourite word <g>) as Medicare....

You rank the candidates.

They count the votes. If no one has a majority (more than 50%) they eliminate the candidate who got the least number of votes and reasign the votes made for them based on the second preference. Repeat until someone has more than 50%.
