Re: Earthquake due?
I remember there was one in the East Midlands a couple of years back - my mate had just checked into an airport hotel there, put down his heavy flight bag, and as he did so the whole room moved!!!! We always said he carries too much junk with him! Anyway he was talking to me on his mobile at the time and he said it was really weird, just being shaken, and he didn;t know what was happening - went down to reception and they calmly said "Its just an earthquake sir, nothing to worry about" so he ordered lunch - while other guests were running round like headless chickens and paniking!
One of those things, if it gets you theres nowt you can do about it. Always stimulates a good discussion though :D |

Re: Earthquake due?
No, sorry Willow, this one really WAS a quake - it was around 2000- 2001 I think, centred around Leicester area/East Midlands.
It was on the BBC news that night as the biggest in the UK for some time. PS Found it - looks like a chimney may have collapsed as a result, rather than the other way round..... http://newssearch.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/1625090.stm |
