We slept through the earthquake and wondered what everyone was going on about.

Hello the Woodz, do you remember Dave's red and yellow trousers, quite colourful wasn't he, nice bloke though.

Hello Angie, we lived in Hallchurch Road off Crossgate street, literally minutes from you. The kids went to Highgate primary. We now live in Hallett Cove.

i'm not suprised.
we live on a corner and i actually felt the "rumbling" moving toward us. i thought a lorry or something was coming down the road and hit us.
i remember rushing to the kids bedrooms and panicing about which one to go to first whilst MrW took what seemed like ages to get out of bed.

as for Mr Dave my dad met him through golf and he was mad! at least the shop up the road still sells his frozen currries cos that's the only was you can get them now....mmmmmmmmmm

thewoodz ,

This World is getting smaller and smaller !! . I used to work with Dave at BT before he started the Mr Daves empire . He was also famous at the time for his night time dj spot on BRMB radio , he was Daves Barnes Jnr then . he had quite a few " stage names " I recall . A good bloke though , and a lovely wife too . The last I heard of him he was still in the " balti business " but was bulk cooking for the take away market .

Dave .

i work for a coach company that supplies coaches to Highgate!!!

as regards Dave - i see Lyn sometimes whilst out and about riding her horses.
Dave does frozen meals for shops such as the Spar etc.
I think he is now into model car racing in a big way and i think he has/or is setting up a local club in his garage.

We were awake, lying in bed watching "Casino". It was weird as I knew straight away that it was an earth tremor!

Hi,

I went to Longlands prior to the merge with High Park and I am 39 (left school in 1983) , I may even know your sister as well , did frequent the pubs around Wollaston /Stourbridge areas during the 80 - 90s ?

your prob more likely to know my cousins - brother and sister (surname lambert). my sis is 41 so she would have been a couple of years above you - have you got any older brothers or sisters cos they may know her. we lived by the gigmill when she was at longlands - i had to walk all the way to redhill from there!!!
you'ld prob know her by sight.
but it just goes to show you how small the world is now becoming!!! one of the reasons i'm hoping family and friends wont "seem" so far away.
