Believe it or not the Shooting Rooms have improved matters. The smack used to be openly on sale all around the area but now it is confined to the X. I used to walk over heroin casulties who had OD'd regularly when going from Darlinghurst to the X.

It will be interesting to see what happens as the Lord Mayor attempts to gentrify the area. A lot of the hotels have been converted to units which changes the electoral thinking of the area.
