I'm going to make the most of not having to queue up with all the foreigners when returning to Perth later this year though.
There's a saving on RRVs though - you won't have to shell out AUD120 every time you want to apply for one (and each family member would need their own).

If funds are short you are allowed to enter the UK on an Australian passport provided you're only going to be a tourist and you don't mind queuing up. Although this rule could always change.

Good point, if you have to vote when a citizen what happens if you get citizenship and then skidaddle the country back to the UK?

Compulsory voting does not apply to overseas Australians, see http://www.aec.gov.au

Do you know what the rule is for a Swedish Citizen entering Sweden? Do they need to maintain a swedish passport for this?

I think your a couple of years to late, all the foreigners have already got there Aussie passports , when we came back in with ours in April the queue still took nearly 30mins to clear....
And thats only the first queue, you've then got the wait for your luggage queue, and then the worst one of the lot (took us over an hour) to get through customs and have you bags scanned. Oh and dont even think about not leaving a car at the airport and being able to get a taxi, that'll be about another hour on average...
You can almost spend as long getting home from when you touch down as it takes to get from Singapore to Perth...

My hub and kids all have Aussie passports. I go through with them because we're a family. No problem.

No idea specifically, but I would think it would be a good idea. It would also mean a shorter line entering other European countries, eg UK.

Swedish citizens have only recently been allowed to keep their citizenship/passport upon becoming Australian, the rules there changed on 1 July 2001.
