I know it is summer now, but please put things into perspective. Maybe ABCDiamond could come up with the lowest summer temps or something for each major city. Thanks. nope. Sometimes in June or July you step outside in the morning and think "its a little bit chilly" when it drops to 10c...but it never gets cold here. |

you gotta be kidding me. the only reason you would think that is because our murderers are inventive but there are few. compared to everywhere else in the country where they kill lots of people with these weird things called guns. adelaide's few murderers think outside of the box

That's not an issue of temperature though, is it? I mean, Perth doesn't exactly hit -30°C every year.
That's just a case of you being cold in a house that's not designed for the cold. ;)

Exactly...everyone's different.
My OH and other Aussie friends had a huge whinging session at the end of winter complaining about how depressing Melbourne weather was...I just couldn't see where they were coming from! Maybe after a few more Melbourne winters it'll get to me.....but I doubt it! However if you do have a predisposition to SAD then SE Qld is definitely the place to be as winters are generally spectacular there. But for me personally I don't like the year round early darkness. Brisbane would get the best winters. Not so sure about the lack of DST. |
Re: Does it ever get cold in Oz?
Melbourne certainly seemed pretty cold last night! Was at Shakespeare in the park at the Botanic Gardens....SW wind howling and everyone was shivering and wrapped up in their blankets and hoodies.

Item on the news just showed a substantial fall of snow at Halls Creak, several were easily making snowballs, it is not expected to last though.
